Brian F Knight, Architect, Principal, AIA, LEED AP

Brian F. Knight is the founder and design principal of Brian F. Knight Architecture, a practice defined by its quiet precision and deep connection to place. With more than two decades of experience across civic, residential, and multifamily housing, Brian’s work is rooted in the belief that architecture should be both functional and quietly expressive—an elegant balance of presence, function, and restraint.
Brian began his career as a graphic designer and art director before pursuing architecture at SCI-Arc, where he graduated summa cum laude. This multidisciplinary foundation continues to shape his approach today: intuitive, collaborative, and sharply attuned to the human experience of space.
As a licensed architect and LEED Accredited Professional, Brian has led projects at nearly every scale—from city halls and transit stations to senior housing, family homes, and affordable multifamily developments. His portfolio includes built work across California, Texas, the western United States, Asia, and the Middle East.
Prior to founding his studio, Brian held senior design roles at firms including Johnson Fain, Perkins+Will, and Gonzalez Goodale. Today, his practice is deeply embedded in the neighborhoods of Los Angeles and the foothills of Altadena and Pasadena, where he is a trusted guide for clients navigating everything from complex permitting to post-disaster rebuilding.
Brian is especially committed to designing with care for those most in need—helping communities recover from California’s wildfires through resilient, sustainable housing. Whether working on a 40-story tower or a modest backyard ADU, his aim is the same: to create spaces that feel intentional, grounded, and enduring.
